5 reasons e-bikes are a great way to start cycling?

Due to advances in lithium battery technology, e-bikes are now making the benefits of cycling even more accessible than eve before!! So if you have been thinking about getting into cycling but not gone ahead just yet, here are some great reasons to start with an e-bike.

5 Reasons e-bikes are a great way to start cycling.

1. Reduced Physical Effort

Due to assistance and additional power the battery provides, you can now travel further with less physical effort. You are in control on how much physical effort you put in vs how much assistance is used. This can reduce anxiety substantially and give you confidence you can complete your journey without losing your legs!

2. Increased Range

As result of the motor assistance you can now travel further than ever before with the same or less effort. So those journeys that were once deemed to far or just out of reach on pedal alone, can now become a reality with an e-bike. The world of cycling opportunities just got a whole lot bigger.

3. Getting over those hills

We all know that cycling on the flat is one thing, but cycling up a hill can be another. If there are hills nearby that have filled you with fear, and the thought of slogging up hill has put you off, you can now choose to use more of the e-bikes power assistance to smooth out your journey. Making hills much less of a lung buster.

3. Comfort & Confidence

E-bikes come in all shapes in size. But many e-bikes are designed and focus on increased comfort.  For example many have wider tyres to provide more cushioning on bumpy roads. The overall geometry (shape of the frame) is more relaxed too. All with the aim to provide a more comfortable upright position, increasing over visibility. Which in turn builds rider confidence. Perfect for beginners!

4. Greater carrying capacity

Due to the additional battery power, e-bikes can make carrying cargo much easier. Those errands such as popping to the shops, or doing the nursery run, which previously were deemed out of reach, are now a great possibility. In fact we are seeing an increase in the category of cargo bikes built specifically for this purpose.

5. With all the traditional benefits

Finally gaining the above benefits does not mean you lose any of the traditional benefits from cycling. You would still be getting exercise! And contributing to a healthy and more sustainable lifestyle. Cycling can be incredibly social too and a great way to spend time with friends and or go an adventure. Which in turn has huge mental health benefits too. So if you have been on the fence about starting cycling, we at eBike Junction can highly recommend starting with an e-bike.
